Blagdon Gardens is a small privately-run commercial nursery based in the Victorian walled kitchen garden and orchard of Lord Ridley's Blagdon Estate, 8 miles north of Newcastle upon Tyne. The willow plantations were established from Long Ashton provenance cutting material and are grown using the minimum of artificial chemicals, pesticides or weedkillers. I saw my first Red Squirrel for 30 years while visiting the nursery in Dec 2000! | ![]() |

Amazon is an excellent source of books on basketmaking and other crafts. They have found me a second-hand copy of Dorothy Wright's "Baskets and Basketry" which has been out of print for some time. Click the book on the right to go to a selection of basketmaking books and the Amazon search facility. The BA receive a commission on each book sold through this website. |
